The iconic Skoda Superb is set to make an exciting comeback to the Indian market, with the much-awaited diesel version expected to arrive in the first half of 2027. The return of the Superb with a diesel powertrain could appeal strongly to enthusiasts and luxury-sedan buyers who have been waiting for the return of Volkswagen Group’s popular TDI technology.
The biggest highlight of the upcoming Superb will be its 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. The version showcased in India previously produced around 193hp and 400Nm of torque, giving the large executive sedan a strong combination of performance and long-distance cruising ability.
The diesel engine is expected to be paired with an automatic transmission, while 4×4 all-wheel drive could also form part of the India-spec package. However, final specifications and equipment will be confirmed closer to launch.
The latest-generation Superb brings a more sophisticated design, an upscale cabin, and modern technology while retaining the spaciousness for which the nameplate has always been known.

The new-generation Superb is expected to come to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Since the current-generation car is produced at Skoda’s Bratislava facility, local assembly is considered difficult, making imports the more practical route.
The CBU route could make the Superb considerably more expensive than its previous locally assembled versions. The earlier imported Superb was priced around ₹54 lakh (ex-showroom), highlighting the pricing challenge for the new model.
