Volkswagen India has recently issued a safety recall that affects two of its popular models — the Taigun and the Virtus. This move highlights the brand’s proactive approach to ensuring customer safety and product quality.
The recall involves 961 vehicles manufactured between 1 December 2021 and 31 May 2025. The concern is linked to a potential defect in the seat belt assembly. While Volkswagen hasn’t reported any accidents or injuries so far, this precautionary measure is being taken to inspect and, if necessary, rectify the issue.
The company is reaching out to affected customers individually and requesting them to bring their vehicles in for inspection at authorized service centers. If any replacement or repair is required, it will be done free of cost.
For those who already own a Volkswagen Taigun or Virtus, it’s crucial to check with your dealership or Volkswagen’s official website to see if your vehicle is affected.
