BMW has completely redesigned the 2 Series Gran Coupe for 2025. While slightly longer and lower, it presents a more cohesive silhouette with updated LED lighting, a refined kidney grille, and more sculpted bumpers—giving it a sharper, more modern appearance.
Inside, the car steps into the future with a curved BMW “Widescreen” display combining both infotainment and instrument cluster, powered by the iDrive 9 (OS 9) system. Expect digital ambient lighting, leather-free Veganza upholstery, and high-end features like a Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, and a head-up display with augmented view.
The 2025 model uses a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine across the range. The 228 models (sDrive and xDrive) make 241 hp, while the sportier M235 xDrive delivers a punchy 312 hp. All variants feature a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and AWD in select trims.
Acknowledging past criticisms, BMW has reinforced the chassis, updated the suspension with Adaptive M dampers, and stiffened key components for better responsiveness and ride comfort.
BMW India launched the second-gen Gran Coupe on 17 July 2025, with local assembly at the Chennai plant. Available variants include the 218i M Sport and 218i M Sport Pro. Deliveries began immediately, supported by service and financing plans.
The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe marks a significant leap forward—fresh design, upgraded tech, sharper handling, and locally produced options for India. Whether you’re considering the spirited M235 or the value-oriented 228, this Gran Coupe now offers much more to those seeking a compact luxury sedan.
